The Bestiarum Vocabulum: It’s here!

bestiarumIt’s been a bit of a wait but The Bestiarum Vocabulum, edited by Dean M. Drinkel, and published by Western Legends Press is now available to buy.

My short story, “The Waiting Game” appears in this anthology, and is based on the life of a Djinn called Craven.

Centuries ago, Craven found himself tricked by the people he thought worshipped him and was trapped inside a cave to slowly die. Craven had other ideas. He waited patiently for the chance of escape, conserving his energy and eating what little sustenance he could find within the confines of the cold, dark prison. Finally, hope arrives and Craven will stop at nothing to secure his freedom. It is a story of survival, of old beliefs and new world order, of human advancement and base instinct, of freedom.

This is the first story I’ve written where I’ve had to follow a set theme (mythical creatures) and I was a bit concerned that I wouldn’t enjoy the process but it was a lot of fun. I also got to work with some amazing writers in the horror and fantasy genres whose names are listed below.

This is not a small anthology. As an A-Z of mythical creatures you are guaranteed twenty-five other fantastic stories for your money as well as the combined talents of award winning writer Dean M Drinkel as editor and contributor, Stoker nominated writer John Palisano as publisher and contributor, and James Powell as cover artist.
